GOV. ALEX OTTI SPEAKS TO ABIANS: GOV. OTTI ANNOUNCES MAJOR UPGRADES, RESTORED ACCREDITATION AND ONGOING PROJECTS ACROSS ABIA
Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Otti, has unveiled significant strides in the state’s education sector, highlighting sweeping reforms, restored institutional accreditation and renewed infrastructural development across all levels of learning.
The Governor revealed that public schools across the state are currently undergoing extensive renovation, including fencing, structural improvements and upgrades designed to align facilities with modern educational standards.
According to the state government, the objective is to create safer, more conducive and technology-ready learning environments for pupils and students.
A major highlight of the progress report was the restoration of accreditation for 24 courses at the Abia State College of Education (Technical), Arochukwu. The institution had previously lost accreditation for several years, affecting its academic reputation and student intake. The regained accreditation marks what the government describes as a decisive turnaround for the college.
Governor Otti also announced remarkable advancements at Abia State University and the Ogbonnaya Onu Polytechnic, Aba. Key buildings at the permanent site of the polytechnic are now nearing completion, signalling what many stakeholders believe is a new phase of infrastructural and academic strengthening for tertiary institutions in the state.
