Ehi-La-Uguru Autonomous Community in Nvosi, Sets Stage for Grand Ehi-La-Uguru Day 2025, Welcomes Governor Alex Otti as Special Host
The Ehi-La-Uguru Autonomous Community, Nvosi in Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area of Abia State has announced preparations for the highly anticipated Ehi-La-Uguru Day 2025, a landmark cultural and community celebration scheduled to hold on Tuesday, December 31, 2025.
The colourful end-of-year event will take place at the Umuehim Primary School Field, beginning at 12:00 noon, and is expected to attract indigenes, guests, stakeholders, and well-wishers from within and outside Abia State.
Adding prestige to the celebration, the Executive Governor of Abia State, His Excellency Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, will grace the occasion as the Special Host, underscoring the importance of grassroots unity, cultural heritage, and community development in the New Abia governance vision.
Ehi-La-Uguru Autonomous Community comprises mainly six villages: Umuehim, Umuguru, Ebeyi, Amaiyi, Umuokpogho, and Okpuala Ekere. The 2025 celebration is expected to serve as a unifying platform for these villages, reinforcing shared identity, peace, and collective progress.
In the spirit of remembrance and youth engagement, the community is also hosting the Late Pastor Laz and Rose Otti Memorial Football Tournament, which commenced on December 8 and will conclude on December 30, 2025. The tournament is being played at the Umuehim Primary School Field, Nvosi, and has continued to draw enthusiastic participation from youths and football lovers across the area.
The football competition not only honours the legacies of the late Pastor Laz and Rose Otti but also promotes sportsmanship, unity, and talent development among young people in the community.
With cultural displays, community bonding, sports, and high-level dignitaries expected, Ehi-La-Uguru Day 2025 promises to be a memorable celebration of heritage, leadership, and hope for a stronger future.
