“Since Tall Men Have Been Ruling Abia State, What Exactly Have We Achieved? Today, A Man Of My Height Has Done Better Than The Taller Men” — MC Osinanwata Sparks Applause as Abia Arise Ariaria Ward 09 Holds First 2026 Strategy Meeting, Reaffirms Total Support for Governor Alex Otti
The Abia Arise Political Structure, Ariaria Ward 09, under Aba North Local Government Area, on Monday, February 2, 2026, held its first official meeting of the year, setting the stage for sustained grassroots mobilisation, internal consolidation, and a renewed push in support of the administration of Governor Alex Chioma Otti.
The well-attended gathering took place at the popular Skyview Lounge open space in Aba, drawing leaders, stakeholders, party officials, youth representatives, and rank-and-file members of the structure, all united by a shared resolve to strengthen the Abia Arise movement at the ward level and deepen support for the Labour Party-led government in Abia State.
In his welcome address, the Abia Arise Co-ordinator for Ariaria Ward 09, Mazi Kyrian Ogbonna Weluche, expressed delight over the steady growth and increasing vibrancy of the structure. He attributed the enthusiasm and commitment of members to the visible impact of Governor Alex Otti’s governance across the state.
Mazi Weluche commended His Excellency, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, for the palliative distribution to members during the yuletide season, describing the gesture as a clear reflection of people-oriented leadership.
According to him, the governor has continued to make the Abia Arise structure proud and has provided compelling reasons for citizens to identify with his administration.
He highlighted recent announcements on the reconstruction of the Old Express Road, ongoing teachers’ employment, and massive school infrastructal development across various local government areas as concrete achievements that continue to reinforce public confidence in the present administration.
He further described Abia Arise Political Structure as the authentic platform for progressive and like-minded individuals who believe in the mandate of Governor Alex Otti. He informed members about the ongoing filling of the Abia Arise registration form and emphasized that the form is free of charge.
Contributing, a stakeholder, Elder Jude Ozo, drew attention to the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR), warning that many people who register often fail to return to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) when they become available. He proposed that a committee be set up in the near future to monitor PVC collection and assist members when the time comes.
The Ariaria Ward 09 Labour Party Chairman, Hon. Linus Okezie, noted that the much-anticipated season of political activities is fast approaching. He urged members to intensify mobilisation efforts and encouraged everyone to attend subsequent meetings with new members as a strategy for expanding the structure and strengthening its base.
Also speaking, the Youth Leader of the structure, Comrade Mbachu Obediah, alias Bishop, called on government appointees from Ariaria Ward 09 at both state and local government levels who have benefitted from the governor’s empowerment through appointments or other means to always carry the youth along, stressing that the youth remain the lifewire of the structure.
The statement drew murmurs of agreement from members and set the tone for a deeper reflection on leadership, capacity, and performance.
However, it was the intervention of a prominent member of the structure, MC Osinanwata, that electrified the meeting and became one of its defining moments.
Echoing similar sentiments about leadership and performance, MC Osinanwata stated:
“Since tall men have been ruling Abia State, what exactly have we achieved? Today, a man of my height has done better than the taller men.”
His remark, delivered with a mix of humour and conviction, was met with loud applause and nods of approval from members. Many interpreted his words as a powerful metaphor that underscored the difference between leadership based on mere appearance or status and leadership anchored on competence, vision, and sincerity of purpose.
MC Osinanwata’s statement resonated strongly with participants, reinforcing the growing perception that Governor Alex Otti’s administration represents a clear departure from the past and a shift toward practical, result-driven governance in Abia State.
Adding his voice, the Councillor representing Ariaria Ward 09, Hon. Chukwudalu Nnabude, acknowledged that many Abians genuinely love Governor Alex Otti but cautioned that such love must translate into concrete political action.
He emphasized that meaningful political participation begins with voter registration and collection of PVCs, adding that from this week, Continuous Voters Registration will be stationed at the ward levels.
In his closing remarks, the Chairman of Abia Arise Stakeholders for Ariaria Ward 09, Chief Chijioke Amaku, popularly known as MC Boss, appreciated members for their impressive turnout and unwavering commitment. He expressed particular joy at seeing new faces among attendees, describing it as clear evidence that the structure is continually progressing.
According to him, the growing membership reflects the spirit of togetherness and the strength of a functional political structure anchored on unity, purpose, and shared belief in the transformational agenda of Governor Alex Otti.
The meeting ended on a note of renewed determination, with members pledging to deepen grassroots engagement, strengthen internal coordination, and work collectively toward consolidating the gains of the Abia Arise mo
vement in Ariaria Ward 09 and beyond.
