Aba North Council Distributes Governor Otti’s Palliatives to Non-Denominational Worshippers and Muslim Faithful in Aba
Aba North Local Government Area on Friday, January 23, 2026, distributed palliatives provided by the Office of the Executive Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, to non-denominational worshippers and members of the Muslim community, as part of the state government’s ongoing gesture of compassion and inclusive governance.
The presentation was carried out by the Aba North Council First Lady, Lady Nina Iheke, who represented Governor Otti at the event. She formally handed over the palliatives on behalf of the Abia State Government to worshippers drawn from different faith backgrounds, underscoring the administration’s commitment to unity, tolerance, and social welfare.
The event took place at the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA), located along Aba–Owerri Road, Aba. The venue recorded a large turnout of non-denominational worshippers as well as Muslim beneficiaries, all of whom benefited from what was described as a remarkable act of benevolence by the Dr. Alex Otti-led administration.
Speaking during the presentation, Lady Nina Iheke commended Governor Otti for his kind-hearted disposition and people-oriented leadership, noting that his administration continues to demonstrate empathy and concern for the well-being of Abians, irrespective of religious affiliation. She encouraged the worshippers to reflect the same spirit of love, generosity, and service in their devotion to God and in their interactions with humanity.
The Mayor’s wife emphasized that the gesture was purely humanitarian and not politically motivated, stressing that the decision to take the palliatives directly to a place of worship, rather than government offices or council secretariats, clearly reflected the sincerity of the initiative. She appealed to the congregation to consistently remember the Governor and his administration in prayers, seeking divine guidance and strength for him as he navigates the demands and challenges of governance.
In response, the congregation, through the Senior Pastor of the church, expressed gratitude to the Abia State Government for the gesture and assured Lady Iheke of their continued prayers and unwavering support for Governor Otti and his administration and the Leadership of the Mayor of Aba North LGA, Hon. Timothy Kalu Iheke, pledging their goodwill ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Dignitaries present at the event included the Leader of the Aba North Legislative Council, Rt. Hon. Nnamdi Sunday; the Chief of Staff to the Mayor of Aba North, Hon. Onyekachi Okoroafor; the Councillor representing St. Eugene Ward 5, Hon. Silas Duru; the Aba North Supervisor for Education, Hon. Chioma Onyenwe, alongside other council officials and community leaders.
