Shock, grief, and disbelief have enveloped residents of Kilifi County, following the sudden and tragic death of a 30-year-old man during a private visit to a female companion in Mbarakani.
According to a report by NewsVista, police authorities confirmed that the deceased, identified as Bernard Omayo, had visited a woman known as Cecilia Chepkirui at her residence in the Mbarakani area. What was meant to be a routine personal visit, however, ended in an unexpected and heartbreaking turn of events.
Preliminary police findings indicate that the incident occurred while the pair were spending time together indoors. During the encounter, Bernard reportedly experienced a sudden medical distress after choking on his saliva and subsequently collapsing.
Alarmed by the situation, the woman immediately called for help, attracting the attention of neighbours who quickly responded to the emergency. Efforts were made to save him as he was rushed to Kilifi County Hospital for urgent medical attention.
Sadly, medical personnel at the facility confirmed that Bernard was dead on arrival.
Law enforcement officers later visited the residence to document the scene and commence a thorough investigation aimed at establishing the exact circumstances that led to the unfortunate incident. Authorities have indicated that due process will be followed to rule out any foul play.
The body has since been transferred to the Kilifi County Hospital morgue, where an autopsy is expected to be conducted to determine the precise cause of death.
The tragic development has left many residents of the community stunned, with friends, neighbours, and sympathisers expressing deep sorrow over the loss. As investigations continue, condolences have continued to pour in for the bereaved family and loved ones of the deceased.
