ASTOPU, Aba Zone Backs “The Rock” as Abia Labour Party Chairman, Declares Opposition “Will Not Prevail”
The Abia State Tricycle Operators Union (ASTOPU), Aba Zone, has thrown its full weight behind the newly emerged State Chairman of the Labour Party, Hon. Peter Azubuike, popularly known as “The Rock,” describing his emergence as a defining moment for the party’s future in the state.
In a powerful felicitation message issued on behalf of the union, the Chairman of ASTOPU Aba Zone, Hon. Victor Azubuike, lauded the leadership qualities of the new party helmsman, insisting that his emergence signals strength, stability, and assured victory for the Labour Party in Abia.
According to him, Hon. Peter Azubuike’s ascension to the top party position is not by chance but a reflection of his resilience, proven capacity, and unwavering commitment to the growth of the party. He emphasized that the new chairman is not only qualified but fully equipped to lead the party to greater political dominance.
“The cap does not just fit him, but he has all it takes and the capacity to deliver in his new role. With him, victory is assured,” the ASTOPU chairman declared.
The union, which represents a strong grassroots network across Aba, noted that the emergence of “The Rock” has reignited hope among party faithful and supporters, particularly at the grassroots level where the Labour Party continues to enjoy massive support.
Hon. Azubuike further expressed confidence that under the leadership of the new chairman, the party would consolidate its gains and expand its influence across Abia State, positioning itself strongly ahead of future political contests.
In a bold and emphatic tone, he stated that the opposition stands no chance against the growing strength of the Labour Party, declaring that “the gates of opposition in Abia shall not prevail.”
The statement underscores the growing momentum within the Labour Party following its recent state congress, which produced a new leadership expected to chart a fresh course for the party’s affairs in Abia.
Political observers say the endorsement by ASTOPU Aba Zone, a key grassroots organization, further reinforces the rising confidence in the party’s leadership and its prospects in the state’s evolving political landscape.
