Abia Angels FC Breaks Silence Over Rumoured Sack of Coach Mario Eshalomi
The management of Abia Angels Football Club, Aba, has officially dismissed widespread reports claiming that the club’s Head Coach, Mario Eshalomi, has been sacked.
In a statement released by the club’s management, Abia Angels clarified that contrary to speculations making rounds on social media and some media platforms, no decision has been taken to terminate the appointment of the coach.
According to the club, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, through the Honourable Commissioner, Mr. Nwaobilor Ananaba, only directed Coach Mario Eshalomi to temporarily step aside during a meeting involving players, coaches, and management officials.
The temporary arrangement, the club explained, was necessary to enable the resolution of internal administrative matters affecting the club’s hierarchy and overall operations.
The statement further stressed that Coach Mario Eshalomi remains the substantive Head Coach of Abia Angels FC, as no official announcement or directive regarding his removal has been issued.
The management therefore urged supporters, stakeholders, and members of the public to disregard every report suggesting that the coach has been relieved of his duties, insisting that such information is false and misleading.
The clarification comes amid growing reactions from football fans and followers of the club, following earlier reports that sparked uncertainty over the future of the team’s technical leadership.
