Father’s Day: Evansino Humanitarian Foundation Founder, Amb. Emmanuel Josiah Urges Men to Embrace Progress Over Perfection
…Advocates Greater Attention to Men’s Mental Health and Emotional Well-being
As the world marks Father’s Day on Sunday, June 21, 2026, and the conclusion of Men’s Mental Health Week, the Founder of Evansino Humanitarian Foundation, Ambassador Emmanuel Josiah, has called on men across Nigeria and beyond to embrace the philosophy of progress rather than perfection in their daily lives.
In a heartfelt message commemorating the dual occasion, Ambassador Josiah emphasized the importance of this year’s Men’s Mental Health Week theme, “One Step at a Time,” with its central focus on “Progress, Not Perfection.”
The humanitarian advocate noted that many men continue to shoulder enormous responsibilities and societal expectations, often at the expense of their emotional and mental well-being.
According to him, society has traditionally conditioned men to remain strong in the face of adversity, suppress their emotions, and bear life’s burdens in silence, a culture he said has contributed significantly to the mental health challenges confronting many men today.
He stressed that a man’s value should not be measured by an unrealistic standard of perfection but by his determination to keep moving forward despite challenges, setbacks, and uncertainties.
Ambassador Josiah acknowledged the sacrifices of fathers and men who work tirelessly to support their families, describing them as pillars of strength whose contributions often go unnoticed. He commended fathers, mentors, and male role models who continue to demonstrate resilience and commitment despite economic pressures and personal struggles.
The Evansino Humanitarian Foundation founder further urged men facing emotional difficulties, stress, anxiety, depression, or other mental health challenges not to suffer in silence. He encouraged them to seek support when necessary and to understand that speaking up about their struggles is a sign of courage rather than weakness.
He also advocated for the creation of more supportive environments where men can openly discuss their challenges without fear of stigma, judgment, or discrimination.
According to him, promoting men’s mental health is essential to building healthier families, stronger communities, and a more compassionate society.
Highlighting the mission of the Evansino Humanitarian Foundation, Ambassador Josiah reaffirmed his commitment to championing initiatives that promote mental wellness, emotional support, and human development for vulnerable groups across society.
He urged men to remain hopeful and focused on personal growth, reminding them that every positive step, no matter how small, contributes to meaningful progress.
As Father’s Day celebrations coincided with the end of Men’s Mental Health Week, Ambassador Josiah called on families, communities, and institutions to appreciate the sacrifices of fathers and to support efforts aimed at improving the mental and emotional well-being of men.
He concluded by encouraging men everywhere to continue taking life “one step at a time,” choosing growth over guilt, purpose over pressure, and progress over perfection.
The message is being viewed as a timely reminder of the need to prioritize men’s mental health while celebrating the invaluable role fathers play in society.
