“That Person Burning Peter Obi Flags Is Not Me And Can Never Be Me“ — ‘Obi Flag Boy’ Says, Denies Burning NDC Flag
A Peter Obi fan known as ‘Obi Flag Boy’ has distanced himself from a viral video purportedly showing him burning flags associated with Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate.
In a public notice addressing the controversy, Obi Flag Boy firmly denied being the person seen in the footage, stressing that his support for the former Anambra State governor remains unchanged.
“That person burning Peter Obi flags is NOT me and can never be me. My support for Peter Obi remains firm.
“I’ve been extremely busy offline, hence my absence from social media. Please verify before judging or attacking me.
“I stand firmly by my convictions,“ he said in a public notice
His statement came amid reactions to the viral footage, with some social media users attempting to identify the individual involved and linking the action to Obi Flag Boy.
The development has since generated discussions among supporters and followers, particularly as the identity of the person in the video remains a subject of debate online.
Obi Flag Boy urged members of the public to exercise caution before drawing conclusions or directing criticism at him based on unverified content circulating on social media.
He also explained that his recent absence from social media had contributed to the confusion, noting that he had been extremely busy offline.
While reaffirming his position, he made it clear that his political support for Peter Obi had not changed and that he remained committed to his convictions.
The clarification is expected to put to rest speculation among his followers over his alleged involvement in the flag-burning incident, even as the video continues to attract attention online.
