Aba Power Announces Gradual Restoration of Electricity Supply Across Network
Aba Power has announced the gradual restoration of electricity supply across its network following the commencement of power generation by its primary power provider, Geometric Power Aba Limited (GPAL).
The development comes after weeks of disruptions that left many residents, businesses and other electricity consumers across the Aba area grappling with prolonged power outages.
In a notice issued on Thursday, September 10, 2026, the management of Aba Power apologised to customers for the disruptions, acknowledging the impact the outages had caused to homes, businesses and daily activities.
The company said the situation is now improving following concrete progress in the power supply chain, particularly with GPAL successfully commencing power generation.
According to Aba Power, electricity is being restored progressively across its network in line with the generation capacity currently available. The company explained that the phased restoration is necessary to ensure system stability and facilitate an orderly return of supply.
The development is expected to provide relief to electricity consumers in Aba, where reliable power supply remains critical to commercial activities, manufacturing, small businesses and household needs.
Aba Power further assured customers that it remains committed to providing the region with dependable electricity, while working on long-term measures aimed at preventing a recurrence of the disruptions.
The company said it was pleased to see electricity gradually returning to customers and appealed for continued patience and understanding as restoration efforts progress.
“Thank you for your patience and continued trust in us during this challenging period,” the statement signed by Aba Power Management concluded.
