Arise News Bars Anthony Kila From Its Platform Over Alleged Academic Credentials Scandal
Arise News has announced the immediate and indefinite removal of Anthony Kila, a freelance political analyst who has appeared several times on the television network, following allegations concerning the authenticity of his academic credentials and an investigative report by Premium Times.
In a statement issued by its Editorial Board, Arise News disclosed that Kila would no longer appear on its channel, citing serious concerns over credibility and integrity following the allegations against him.
The decision comes after the network reportedly contacted Kila on October 3, 2026, to seek his response to claims that he falsified his academic qualifications.
According to Arise News, Kila requested additional time to respond to the allegations.
However, the network said that 10 days had passed without receiving a response from him, while the allegations had continued to intensify.
The development followed a damning investigative report by Premium Times, which raised questions about the authenticity of Kila’s academic credentials and triggered further scrutiny of his professional standing.
Explaining its decision, Arise News stated that Kila’s continued contributions to the network had become untenable under the circumstances.
The broadcaster also clarified that it was unaware of the allegations when Kila appeared on its platform in previous engagements, stressing that the decision was informed by the findings of the investigative report and its commitment to maintaining professional standards.
Arise News emphasised that credibility and integrity remain central to its operations, noting that it takes such matters extremely seriously. The network subsequently announced that Kila’s exclusion would take effect immediately, adding that he would not appear on any of its platforms in the future. The decision marks a significant development in the controversy surrounding the political analyst, whose appearances on Arise News had provided him with a platform to discuss political affairs and national issues. While the network has announced its position, the allegations concerning Kila’s academic credentials remain allegations unless conclusively established through the appropriate processes. His response to the claims was not included in the statement issued by Arise News.
The statement was signed by the Editorial Board of Arise News, which reaffirmed its position on upholding credibility and integrity in its broadcasting activities.
