APC Reshuffles 2027 Campaign Council, Names Olawande Youth Mobilisation Director, Betta Edu Deputy Women Mobilisation Director
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has unveiled a fresh leadership structure for its 2027 Presidential Campaign Council, appointing new leaders for its youth and women mobilisation directorates while establishing a new Directorate of Stage Organisation and Management ahead of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid.
The latest appointments are aimed at strengthening the party’s campaign machinery, improving coordination among key directorates and expanding its mobilisation drive as political activities gather momentum ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The changes were announced in a statement signed by the council’s Secretary, Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, following the inauguration of the campaign council.
Under the new arrangement, Dr Farouk Adamu Aliyu has been appointed Director of the newly created Directorate of Stage Organisation and Management, with Rt. Hon. Adejare Bello named as Co-Director.
In a major development for the party’s youth mobilisation strategy, Ayo Olawande has been appointed Director of Youth Mobilisation, while Dr Dayo Israel will serve as Deputy Director.
The appointments underscore the APC’s efforts to strengthen its grassroots political structures and engage a broader segment of the electorate, particularly young Nigerians, whose participation could prove significant in determining the outcome of the 2027 presidential contest.
The party is also intensifying its women mobilisation strategy, with Dr Mary Aille Idele appointed to head the Directorate of Women Mobilisation. Former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Dr Betta Edu, has been named Deputy Director, while Hon. Imaan Suleman will serve as Secretary of the directorate.
The new leadership arrangement is expected to enhance the coordination of women-focused campaign activities and broaden the party’s engagement with female voters across the country.
The campaign council has charged the newly appointed officials to bring their experience, organisational skills and political networks to bear on their respective responsibilities. They are also expected to work closely with other directorates to ensure the effective implementation of the council’s campaign programmes and mobilisation strategies.
The appointments come as APC leaders, political stakeholders and support groups continue to intensify preparations for Tinubu’s re-election campaign across different parts of the country.
In Kogi East, Senator Isah Jibrin has mobilised support for Tinubu and the APC, reflecting the growing efforts by party figures to consolidate their political bases ahead of the next general election.
Meanwhile, FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has maintained a distinction between his support for President Tinubu and his position regarding other APC candidates, highlighting the complex political alignments emerging ahead of the 2027 elections.
With the creation of additional campaign structures and the appointment of new officials, the APC appears focused on building a coordinated mobilisation network capable of reaching different demographic groups and strengthening its nationwide political presence.
The campaign council has stressed that cooperation among its directorates and other relevant political structures will be crucial to achieving its objectives as the party prepares for the 2027 presidential election.
