10,000-Hectare Enugu Tribu Songhai Farm Roars Back to Life as Mbah’s Agricultural Revolution Gathers Pace
The massive 10,000-hectare Enugu Tribu Songhai Farms at Obunofia Ndiuno in Ezeagu Local Government Area is undergoing a remarkable transformation, with new drone footage revealing the scale of progress at the once-dormant agricultural estate.
The sprawling farm is being revitalised through a public-private partnership involving the Enugu State Government, Tribu Limited and Songhai Sustainable Initiative in Nigeria, in what is emerging as one of the state’s major agricultural development projects.
Once largely abandoned and underutilised, the vast agricultural estate is rapidly being converted into a productive and integrated farming hub designed to boost food production while creating employment opportunities and expanding the economic value of agriculture in Enugu State.
The development is expected to support a broad agricultural value chain, with the potential to connect primary production to processing, agribusiness and other agro-industrial activities.
Beyond increasing food output, the revitalisation of the estate represents a strategic effort to unlock the economic potential of Enugu’s vast agricultural resources and position the state as a stronger player in Nigeria’s evolving food and agro-industrial sector.
The visible progress at the site also underscores the administration of Governor Peter Mbah’s emphasis on turning previously underutilised assets into productive economic ventures.
With thousands of hectares of land being brought back into active agricultural use, the Enugu Tribu Songhai project is poised to become an important engine for food security, job creation, rural development and agro-industrial growth in the state.
