27 Pro-Groups Endorse Hon. Ucheonye for Second Term, Backs Mrs. Ehuchie, Gov. Otti’s 2027 Re-Election in Aba North
About 27 support groups under the umbrella of All Pro-Groups in Aba North have thrown their weight behind the re-election bid of the member representing Aba Central
State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Stephen Akachukwu Ucheonye, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement was made on Monday, September 7, 2026, when leaders and representatives of the groups visited Hon. Ucheonye at his residence in Aba to formally declare their support for his bid to return to the State Assembly for a second term.
The development signals growing grassroots mobilisation in Aba North as political activities gradually intensify ahead of the 2027 elections.
The delegation was led by the Aba North Leader of All Pro-Groups, Pastor Promise Iroabueke, with 18 coordinators representing various groups in attendance.
According to the organisers, the coalition comprises more than 27 Pro-Groups spread across the 12 wards of Aba North Local Government Area, with each group said to have more than 800 active members.
The groups described their decision to endorse Hon. Ucheonye for a second term as a demonstration of their confidence in his representation and their commitment to ensuring continuity in the constituency.
In a related development, the coalition also endorsed the Labour Party candidate for Aba North State Constituency, Mrs. Ijeoma Florence Ehuchie, for the forthcoming 2027 election.
The endorsement of Mrs. Ehuchie further underscores the groups’ stated intention to mobilise their grassroots structures behind the Labour Party ticket in Aba North.
Speaking at the separate endorsement events, Pst. Iroabueke reaffirmed the coalition’s commitment to working tirelessly for the success of Labour Party candidates across Aba North.
He also reaffirmed the groups’ strong support for the re-election of Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, in 2027, stressing their desire for continuity in the administration’s programmes and policies.
With their extensive grassroots structures across the 12 wards, the Pro-Groups said they were prepared to commence sustained mobilisation ahead of the 2027 polls, with the objective of delivering victory for their preferred candidates in Aba North.
