Isiala Ngwa South Chairman, Hon. Nnadozie Nwogwugwu, Hosts Former Councillors’ Association, Reaffirms Commitment to Inclusive Governance, Unity, and Development

The Executive Chairman of Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area, Hon. Nnadozie Nwogwugwu, on Thursday received members of the Association of Former Elected Councillors of Isiala Ngwa South at his office in the Council Headquarters, Omoba, in a meeting centered on inclusiveness, grassroots strengthening, and fostering unity for the overall progress of the local government.

The meeting commenced with a solemn minute of silence in honour of the late Chairman of the Association, Hon. Donatus Orji, as the Executive Chairman announced that the council was already making arrangements, in partnership with the deceased’s family, to ensure he receives a befitting burial in recognition of his service to the local government.

Hon. Nwogwugwu emphasized that his administration remains deeply committed to promoting participatory governance by ensuring that every stakeholder, past and present, contributes to the rebuilding process and development of Isiala Ngwa South. He reiterated that unity and cooperation among political actors at all levels remain crucial to sustaining the peace and development currently being experienced across the area.

Speaking on behalf of the Association, Hon. Francis Nwanguma commended the Executive Chairman for his open-door leadership style and renewed drive to reposition the council for greater efficiency and progress, noting that Isiala Ngwa South had not witnessed such inclusive leadership in a long time.

Similarly, Hon. Ebere Davison lauded Hon. Nwogwugwu’s ongoing developmental projects spread across the local government and assured him of the Association’s continuous loyalty and partnership in advancing the transformational agenda of His Excellency, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, the Executive Governor of Abia State.

The meeting, which was marked by robust discussions and a shared commitment to progress, was attended by key government functionaries, including the Secretary to the Local Government, Barr. Ikechukwu Ogbonna; Chief of Staff to the Executive Chairman, Hon. Eze Ezeama; and the LGA Labour Party Chairman, Hon. Smart Ogbonna, among others.

The session ended on a note of solidarity and renewed optimism, as participants pledged collective support for the ongoing reforms aimed at deepening grassroots governance and promoting sustainable development in Isiala Ngwa South.
