The Ministry of Trade and Commerce, Abia State, has debunked reports circulating within the Ariaria International Market suggesting that the zonal chairmen of the market have been dissolved by its Acting Chairman, Mr. Christopher Nnabude.

In a clarification statement issued by the Ministry’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), Nnaji Marlin, on behalf of the Honourable Commissioner, Mrs. Salome Obiukwu, the ministry described the alleged dissolution as null, void, and unauthorized, stressing that no directive or approval emanated from the commissioner’s office to that effect.

According to the Ministry, any such action carried out without proper authorization should be disregarded, as the leadership structure of the market remains unchanged.

The statement further directed all recognized zonal chairmen at Ariaria International Market to remain in their respective offices and continue performing their duties without interruption, urging traders and stakeholders not to panic or be misled by unauthorized announcements.

The ministry emphasized that any official communication regarding the market’s leadership or administrative changes will be formally issued only through approved government channels.

The Ministry expressed appreciation to traders and market leaders for their cooperation and commitment towards ensuring stability, orderliness, and continued growth of the Ariaria International Market.
