ABIA SET TO UNVEIL 25-YEAR GROWTH DEVELOPMENT PLAN AS GOVERNOR OTTI’S ADMINISTRATION MOVES TO SECURE A FUTURE-PROOF ROADMAP FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
In a significant step toward institutionalizing long-term development in the state, the Abia State Government is preparing to unveil its comprehensive 25-Year Growth Development Plan, an ambitious, future-focused blueprint designed to guide Abia’s progress for the next quarter of a century.
The Commissioner for Information, Prince Okey Kanu, made this known on Monday during a press briefing at Government House Umuahia, following this week’s State Executive Council meeting presided over by Governor Alex Otti.
Prince Kanu explained that the forthcoming document is conceived as a fully structured, step-by-step growth framework that secures Abia’s development irrespective of political transitions.
“The plan will outline the short-, medium-, and long-term aggregate growth in a sequential progression with the ultimate goal of developing the State in a structured manner, regardless of the administration in power,” He emphasized.
He further disclosed that the plan goes beyond strategy, as it integrates critical financing mechanisms that will sustain its implementation over the entire 25-year period.
According to him, “The document will include funding pathways for the plan. Upon the unveiling of the document, necessary legal backing will be put in place to ensure that it runs in full course.”
With this long-term roadmap nearing its official launch, the Otti-led administration is positioning Abia State for sustained growth, institutional continuity, and an unprecedented era of strategic planning anchored on stability, accountability, and future
readiness.
