Ariaria Market Leaders Mobilise Arochukwu Indigenes in Aba for Voter Registration and Labour Party E-Registration
A strong wave of political mobilisation and grassroots sensitisation swept through Aba on Sunday, June 7, 2026, as the Vice Chairman of Ariaria International Market, Chief Mazi Ufere Inyama, alongside key market executives and community leaders, commenced a strategic registration and enlightenment exercise targeting Arochukwu indigenes residing in the commercial city.
The sensitisation tour, which attracted massive participation from various Arochukwu town unions in Aba, was led by Chief Mazi Ufere Inyama in company of the Treasurer of Ariaria International Market, Chief Alex Ikechukwu Uzukwe, the Assistant Secretary, Mr. Okechukwu Godswill, and others.
Among the eight prominent Arochukwu town unions that participated in the exercise were Atani Arochukwu Welfare Union (A.W.U) Aba Branch, Amangwu Development Union (A.D.U) Aba Branch, Obinkita Progressive Union Aba Branch, Amoba Progressive Union (A.P.U), Ugwuakuma Development Union (U.D.U) Aba Branch, Nzuko Amannagwu Aba Branch, Ugbo Welfare Union Aba Branch, and Ibom Welfare Union Aba Branch.
Addressing members of the various unions, Chief Mazi Ufere Inyama expressed appreciation for their continued unity and support towards the administration of Governor Alex Otti. He informed the gathering of his recent appointment into the leadership structure of Ariaria International Market as Vice Chairman, describing it as a call to greater service and responsibility.
He further explained that the visit was aimed at encouraging wider participation in the ongoing voter’s card registration exercise as well as the Labour Party E-Registration exercise across the state.
According to him, the exercise represents a practical way for supporters of the present administration to consolidate their support and contribute to the continuity of the developmental strides currently being witnessed across Abia State.
The Ariaria Market Vice Chairman stressed the importance of political participation at the grassroots level, noting that active involvement in voter registration and party membership remains a critical pathway for sustaining good governance and ensuring the re-election of Governor Alex Otti for a second term in office.
Speaking further during the sensitisation exercise, the Treasurer of Ariaria International Market, Chief Alex Ikechukwu Uzukwe, urged the people not to delay in embracing the Labour Party E-Registration exercise. He maintained that the period calls for decisive action from supporters of the current administration, especially those who desire continuity in governance and development.
Chief Uzukwe highlighted the significance of the electronic registration process, describing it as an opportunity for loyal supporters of the governor to formally identify with the Labour Party. He noted that while the party currently enjoys widespread support across the state, the number of registered party members does not adequately reflect the strength of its support base.
He also raised concerns over reports of fraudulent individuals allegedly collecting National Identification Numbers (NIN) from unsuspecting residents under the guise of empowerment programmes, warning that some of such activities are being used to secretly register people into political parties other than the Labour Party.
The market leader cautioned residents to remain vigilant and avoid falling victim to deceptive political schemes, while reiterating that the Labour Party E-Registration exercise is completely free of charge.
The event featured on-the-spot registration of members from the participating town unions, alongside practical sensitisation sessions aimed at teaching attendees how to assist others in completing the registration process successfully.
The exercise further reinforced the growing grassroots political awareness among market leaders and community stakeholders in Aba, as preparations continue to gather momentum ahead of future political engagements in Abia State.
