EFCC Summons Former Bayelsa Governor Timipre Sylva Over Alleged $14.86m Fraud
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has reportedly summoned former Bayelsa State Governor, Timipre Sylva, for questioning over an alleged $14.86 million fraud case.
The development comes barely a day after Sylva announced his resignation from the All Progressives Congress (APC), in a move that has further drawn attention to his current political and legal circumstances.
Sylva reportedly forwarded a copy of his resignation letter to the EFCC shortly after submitting it to the relevant party authorities.
The EFCC’s invitation is understood to be connected to an ongoing investigation into allegations involving the former governor and the handling of funds running into millions of dollars.
