Aba North Mayor, Hon. Timothy Iheke Felicitates with Abians as State Marks 35th Anniversary, Hails New Era of Progress Under Gov. Alex Otti
The Mayor of Aba North Local Government Area, Hon. Timothy Kalu Iheke, has joined the Abia State Government and the people of the state in celebrating the 35th anniversary of the creation of Abia, describing the historic milestone as a celebration of resilience, progress, unity and the limitless possibilities ahead.
In a goodwill message to mark the anniversary, Mayor Iheke said the occasion offered Abians a rare opportunity to reflect on the state’s remarkable journey, honour the sacrifices of its founding fathers and renew their collective commitment to building a more prosperous future.
He noted that the creation of Abia State 35 years ago set in motion a journey that has continued to be shaped by the strength, enterprise, creativity and determination of its people.
According to the Aba North Mayor, the anniversary celebration goes beyond the passage of time, as it represents the collective story of a people who have remained resilient through different phases of the state’s development while continuing to aspire for greater heights.
Hon. Iheke said Abia now has even greater reasons to celebrate, pointing to what he described as a new wave of purposeful leadership, infrastructural renewal, economic transformation and renewed confidence in governance across the state.
The Mayor particularly commended the leadership of His Excellency Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, whose administration, he said, has continued to inspire hope and lay a stronger foundation for the emergence of a more prosperous Abia.
He maintained that the vision of a New Abia is steadily taking shape through deliberate policies and actions aimed at transforming the state and improving the lives of its people.
Mayor Iheke also reaffirmed the strategic importance of Aba North to the economic growth and development of Abia State, describing the area as an integral part of the commercial heartbeat of Aba and a major centre of enterprise, innovation and industry.
He said the people of Aba North are proud to be part of the historic journey towards a greater Abia and would continue to support every genuine effort geared towards advancing development and prosperity.
The Mayor called on Abians, both within the state and in the diaspora, to remain united and continue to support initiatives capable of promoting peace, progress and sustainable development.
As Abia celebrates 35 years of its creation, Hon. Iheke expressed optimism that the state stands at the threshold of a brighter future.
He said the foundation for a new chapter of growth is being strengthened and urged the people to remain steadfast in their collective determination to build a state that future generations would be proud to call home.
The Aba North Mayor concluded by wishing the Abia State Government and the entire people of the state a memorable 35th anniversary celebration, expressing hope that the years ahead would usher in greater unity, peace, prosperity and unprecedented development.
