Blind Swiss Man Reportedly Travels to Nigeria Seeking Healing from Prophet Ebuka Obi, Leaves Without Testimony
An unconfirmed account making the rounds online has sparked reactions after a blind Swiss man reportedly travelled all the way from Switzerland to Nigeria in search of healing from popular preacher Evangelist Prophet Ebuka Obi.
According to the account, the man approached the prophet on the street after hearing that he was nearby. In a scene likened to the biblical story of Bartimaeus, the blind man reportedly called out to Prophet Ebuka Obi, pleading for mercy and expressing strong faith and expectations that he would regain his sight.
The comparison to Bartimaeus, however, took an unexpected turn.
While Bartimaeus, according to the Bible, received his sight after encountering Jesus and was told that his faith had made him well, the Swiss visitor reportedly returned without a healing testimony despite the prophet allegedly making an effort to anoint his eyes with oil.
The incident has generated plenty of commentary, with some observers humorously focusing on the apparent expression on the prophet’s face during the encounter.
One interpretation was that the moment may have caught the prophet off guard, particularly because the visitor was reportedly dealing with genuine blindness rather than a condition that could easily be explained away.
The situation has also raised questions about the expectations people place on religious figures who are believed to possess healing powers, especially when desperate individuals travel long distances and spend significant sums in the hope of receiving a miracle.
The account further claims that the prophet’s practice of asking people to see him afterwards could potentially give the visitor an opportunity to receive financial assistance, including help with expenses incurred during his journey.
For now, the story remains unconfirmed, and there is no independently verified evidence establishing whether the man actually travelled from Switzerland specifically to seek healing, what happened to him afterwards, or whether he received any form of assistance.
Nevertheless, the episode has reignited an old and sensitive debate: when people travel across continents in search of a miracle, what happens when the expected miracl
e does not come?
