“I AM NOT SURPRISED” — Hon. Kenneth Emelike Writes, Hails Governor Alex Otti’s Transformational Leadership in Abia
Hon. Kenneth O. Emelike, Coordinator of Abia Arise in Aba North Local Government Area, has expressed strong admiration for the leadership style and achievements of Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, describing his performance as people-oriented, pragmatic, and transformational.
In a personal reflection, Hon. Emelike revealed that he once worked for Dr. Uche Ogah, believing at the time that he was the best option for Abia State.
However, he said his conviction changed after carefully studying Governor Otti’s manifesto.
According to him, the manifesto, which clearly outlined people-focused policies and a practical roadmap for development, convinced him to make a decisive political turnaround in support of Dr. Alex Otti, whom he described as “the man to follow.”
Since assuming office in May 2023, Governor Otti, Hon. Emelike noted, has continued to win the hearts of Abians and Nigerians through what he termed pragmatic governance backed by verifiable developments across key sectors of the state.
He highlighted infrastructure as one of the strongest pillars of the Otti administration, stating that over 145 roads have either been constructed or rehabilitated within a short period. He stressed that both urban and rural roads have received attention, bringing relief to residents, reducing the hardship of transportation, and revitalizing the transport sector across the state.
In the health sector, Hon. Emelike praised the governor for renovating several healthcare centres and restoring the accreditation of the Abia State University Teaching Hospital, which had been lost under the previous administration. He described this achievement as a major boost to healthcare delivery and medical training in the state.
The education sector, he said, has also experienced a genuine turnaround, with the renovation of schools and the construction of new ones. He further commended the administration for ensuring free basic and secondary education, a policy he said is already positively impacting wards across the state.
On workers’ welfare, Hon. Emelike noted that civil servants now receive their salaries promptly, with no backlog of arrears, restoring confidence, dignity, and morale within the public service.
Economically, he described Governor Otti as “God-sent,” crediting him with revamping and repositioning Abia State as one of the best business destinations in Nigeria and beyond. He pointed out that moribund industries are coming back to life and that investors and partners are increasingly eager to identify with the state.
Hon. Emelike concluded that Governor Otti’s “performance per excellence” has become the subject of widespread discussion, even among critics who, according to him, privately acknowledge the governor’s achievements while publicly denying them for political reasons.
He expressed gratitude to the governor for living up to the collective expectations of Abians and prayed for continued success for his administration.
“God bless the people’s Governor.
God bless the new Abia of our dreams,” he declared.

I AM NOT SURPRISED
I was working for Dr. Uche Ogah thinking that he was the best for the State not until I read his Excellency, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti’s manifesto and concluded that he was the man to follow. I made a u turn because I read his people oriented policies.
Since assuming office in May, 2023, his Excellency has won the hearts of Nigerians for performances orchestrated by pragmatic governance and verifiable developments across various sectors in the State.
Under his able leadership, the State has witnessed a total turnaround in the provision of infrastructure which is one of the centerpieces of his administration. More than 145 roads have been either constructed or renovated within a short period. Urban and rural roads havebeen fixed which has put an end to tears and wears, and has also transformed the transport sector.
In the health sector, our purposeful Governor has renovated numerous healthcare centres and brought back the accreditation of Abia State University Teaching Hospital which the previous Government lost.
The education sector has witnessed genuine turnaround. Schools are renovated and new ones being constructed. Our Wards are now enjoying free basic and Secondary education.
Civil Servants now receive their salaries as and when due with no backlog of areas been owed.
In the area of economy, this Godsent has revamped it and repositioned the State as the best business destination in Nigeria and beyond. Moribund industries are now springing up again again and partners are happy to identify with the State.
His performance per excellence is now the talk of every Dick and Harry including his detractors who would acknowledge his good works in their closets but deny his achievements publicly just to please their paymasters.
Our dear Governor, thank you for not disappointing our collective desires.
God bless the people’s Governor,
God bless the new Abia of our dreams.
