Labour Party All the Way: Abia Chairman, Peter Azubike Mobilises Members for 2027 Victory, Urges Unity
The Abia State Chairman of the Labour Party, Hon. Peter Azubike, has called on party leaders, stakeholders, candidates and members across the state to unite, intensify grassroots mobilisation and work collectively towards securing victory in the 2027 general elections.
Hon. Azubike made the call while expressing appreciation to party leaders, campaign council members, affiliated groups and supporters for their contributions to the successful flag-off of the party’s campaign in Abia State, describing the exercise as a significant step towards sustaining the ongoing transformation of the state.
In a statement issued following the campaign flag-off, the Labour Party chairman commended the party’s National Leader, the National Chairman and members of the National Working Committee for their leadership, guidance and commitment to strengthening the party.
He also acknowledged the contributions of the Abia State Working Committee, the State Campaign Council, campaign councils at the local government, ward and polling unit levels, as well as the Abia Arise State Executive and other affiliated groups.
The chairman further appreciated party stakeholders, faithful and supporters who have continued to demonstrate commitment to the party’s collective vision.
According to him, the Labour Party, which he credited with bringing political redemption to Abia State in 2023, is once again mobilising its structures to sustain the emergence and transformation of the New Abia.
Hon. Azubike maintained that the party’s responsibility extends beyond retaining its position as the ruling party in the state, stressing that its achievements must be consolidated through continued political participation and effective representation at both state and federal levels.
He consequently charged party members to work towards securing all elective positions in Abia State for the Labour Party in 2027, arguing that such victories would help sustain the state’s ongoing transformation and strengthen the implementation of its development agenda.
The chairman urged members not to remain passive or wait for formal invitations before joining the campaign, insisting that every committed party faithful has a role to play in the collective struggle for electoral success.
He encouraged members to identify with campaign councils at their respective levels and contribute their time, resources, ideas and influence towards expanding the party’s reach across communities.
Hon. Azubike emphasised that the 2027 political journey must be driven by unity, sacrifice and collective responsibility rather than personal ambition or individual interests.
He also tasked campaign leaders at all levels with ensuring that party stakeholders, interest groups and supporters are adequately accommodated in the campaign structure, warning against any approach that could make members feel excluded from the process.
According to him, inclusiveness and a genuine sense of belonging are essential to building a formidable political movement capable of delivering victory at the polls.
The Labour Party chairman equally challenged the party’s candidates to raise their political engagement and organisational standards, urging them to strengthen their structures, maintain consistent contact with the electorate and address gaps in their mobilisation efforts.
He stressed that candidates must remain visible and accessible, particularly to young people, men and women at the grassroots, who need to see their commitment and understand their messages through sustained engagement.
Hon. Azubike noted that electoral victory would require more than the enthusiasm generated by campaign rallies, explaining that effective coordination, continuous mobilisation and strong grassroots relationships would be critical to the party’s success.
He maintained that no individual, group or political structure could accomplish the task alone, calling for a united front among party leaders, candidates, campaign coordinators and supporters throughout the state.
The chairman expressed confidence that collective commitment would enable the party to consolidate its political gains, sustain the New Abia vision and secure another electoral victory in 2027.
He concluded with a renewed appeal for unity, focus and dedication among members, reaffirming the party’s determination to continue its political journey under the rallying slogan: Labour Party All the Way!

PRESS RELEASE
LABOUR PARTY ALL THE WAY!
Following the successful flag-off of our great party’s campaign yesterday in Abia State, God’s Own State, I wish to sincerely appreciate and thank everyone who contributed to making the event a success and continues to contribute to building and strengthening our party.
My appreciation goes to:
1. H.E., the National Leader of our great party, for his leadership and commitment.
2. The National Chairman and all members of the National Working Committee for their guidance and support.
3. The Abia State Working Committee for its dedication and commitment to the party.
4. The State Campaign Council and all members of the campaign councils at the LGA, ward and polling unit levels.
5. The Abia Arise State Executive and all affiliated party groups for their contributions and continued support.
6. All party stakeholders, faithful and supporters who have remained committed to our collective vision.
As you all know, our great party, through which God redeemed the soul of Abia in 2023, is once again on the march, this time with the mandate to sustain the birth and transformation of the New Abia.
Today, the Labour Party is not just the ruling party in Abia State; it has also brought a new and transformative light to our state. We must therefore do everything within our reach to secure all elective seats in Abia for the Labour Party in 2027. This is important not just for political dominance but, more importantly, to ensure that the ongoing transformation of Abia is sustained and extended through effective representation at both the state and federal levels.
I therefore enjoin all party faithful to work closely with the campaign councils at every level to ensure that our great party cruises to victory in the 2027 general elections.
This is not the time to sit on the fence waiting to be called upon to join the campaign team. Do not wait any longer; join the movement and contribute your quota. You are already part of the New Abia transformative campaign team, and there is a place for everyone willing to contribute to our collective success.
We must work as one team. This is not a time for personal glory or individual interests. It is a time for unity, sacrifice and collective responsibility. Campaign leaders at all levels must make deliberate efforts to accommodate all party stakeholders, interest groups and supporters, giving everyone a genuine sense of belonging. Inclusiveness is essential to our collective success.
To our well-qualified candidates, the time to raise the bar is now. We must intensify our engagements, strengthen our structures and close every loose end. Keep reaching out, keep engaging and remain visible.
Our youths, men and women at the grassroots must feel your presence, hear your message and see your commitment through renewed and consistent engagement.
The task ahead requires all of us. No individual, group or structure can achieve this victory alone. Together, we can consolidate our gains, sustain the New Abia vision and secure another victory for our great party.
Let us remain united, focused and committed.
LABOUR PA
RTY ALL THE WAY!
Hon. Peter Azubike
Labour Party State Chairman, Abia State
