Police Arrest 36-Year-Old Woman Over Alleged Exploitation of Minor Daughter in Explicit Viral Content in Anambra
The Anambra State Police Command has arrested a 36-year-old woman, identified as Anulika Onyeanusia, over allegations that she used her minor daughter to produce explicit content in Onitsha, Anambra State.
The arrest followed the circulation of a disturbing video which allegedly showed the suspect engaging in an inappropriate act involving a minor and an adult intimacy device.
According to information from the police, the investigation was launched after the video came to the attention of the command, prompting operatives to move against the suspect and secure the safety of the children involved.
The operation also resulted in the rescue of four children aged two, three, six and nine years respectively. Police operatives reportedly recovered intimacy devices and other items considered relevant to the ongoing investigation.
The command’s spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the arrest and said the suspect remained in police custody as investigators worked to establish the full circumstances surrounding the alleged offence.
The police are also investigating whether other individuals may have been involved in the alleged exploitation. As part of the probe, the suspect’s husband is reportedly being questioned to determine whether he had any knowledge of or connection to the alleged activities.
The case has raised serious concerns over the alleged exploitation of children for explicit online content, particularly amid growing concerns about the misuse of digital platforms to expose minors to abuse.
The Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, CP Nnanna Oji Ama, has expressed deep concern over the allegations and directed that the matter be thoroughly and professionally investigated.
The police authorities stressed that the protection and welfare of the rescued children remain a priority, with appropriate care and protection to be provided to them while investigations continue.
The command is expected to establish the facts surrounding the allegations and determine whether additional suspects or circumstances are connected to the case.
