As the harvest of farm produce continues, five local farmers have been reportedly killed by suspected Fulani herdsmen in Gulani and Gujba local government areas of Yobe State.

It was gathered that poor Police response to distress calls, failure to diligently punish past perpetrators and lack of collaboration between the Police and the affected communities were factors that aggravated the recent attacks on farmers by the invading herders.

Police and local government authorities have yet confirmed or make statements about the incident.

A Concerned Citizen of Yobe, Husaini Mohammed Isah, in a post, called on the Police Commissioner, Emmanuel Ado, to order investigation of all recent attacks and expedite the trials of individuals found to be culprits.

“While anticipating quick reaction from the Commissioner of Police, we urge the Yobe State Ministry of Livestock Development to urgently swing into action and find a lasting solution to this man’s inhumanity to man”, he urged.
