Putin orders increased protection for minors in Russia
President of Russia, Vladimir Putin on Monday ordered the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs to prioritize the protection of minors across the federation.
Putin gave the directive in his message to the ministry personnel, staff members, and veterans on their professional holiday, the Interior Ministry Personnel Day.
The federal body is responsible for law enforcement through the Police, Drugs Control, Migration Affairs, Traffic Safety, the Centre for Combating Extremism, and the Investigative Department.
Noting that improving the crime clearance rate is a top objective, Putin urged the ministry workforce to perfect their approaches to fighting crime, including in the information space.
“You are expected to act in a consistent and system-wide manner to prevent offenses, among minors in the first place,” the president instructed.
Putin told the personnel to master the latest competencies, improve their knowledge and skills, have a sense of dedication, and always act in a principled way and in good faith.
The leader said Russians expect them to do better as they solve challenging tasks, counter criminal threats and extremism, fight corruption, ensure road safety, and control migration.
Putin, however, praised the personnel for discharging their professional and civic duty diligently and risking their lives while battling against crime, violence, arbitrariness, and abuse of power.
“I am convinced that you will continue to perform your tasks just as effectively,” the president said. “I wish you every success, good health, and well-being for you and your families.”
