The Executive Chairman of Aba North Local Government Area, Hon. Timothy Iheke Kalu, has reaffirmed the council’s commitment to uplifting persons living with disabilities, as he pledged strong institutional support for the National Association of Persons with Physically Disabilities (NAPWPD), Aba North Chapter.
The pledge was made on Thursday, November 20, 2025, during the inauguration ceremony of the newly constituted executive of NAPWPD, held at the Aba North Local Government Council Headquarters.
Represented by the Deputy Chairman, Hon. Christian Chijioke Ogbuisi, the Executive Chairman emphasized that the council recognizes the potential, talent, and resourcefulness embedded within the community of persons with disabilities. He assured that the local government is prepared to support them to every extent possible, stressing the council’s belief that every disability carries inherent ability.
Highlighting the council’s inclusive employment practices, he referenced a physically challenged staff member currently serving as a typist at the council, describing her performance as exceptional and a demonstration of what empowerment and opportunity can yield.
