ASTOPU Umuahia Zone Chairman, Hon. Chinweotito Godson Appolos, Welcomes Members to 2026, Wishes Abians a Prosperous New Year
The Chairman of the Abia State Tricycles Operators Union (ASTOPU), Umuahia Zone, Hon. Chinweotito Godson Appolos, has warmly welcomed tricycle operators, residents of Umuahia, and Abians at large to the year 2026, describing it as a year filled with hope, renewed strength, and greater opportunities for growth and progress.
In his New Year message to members of the union, Hon. Appolos expressed deep gratitude to God Almighty for His protection and mercies throughout the previous year, noting that despite the challenges encountered in daily operations, ASTOPU members remained resilient, united, and committed to peaceful and lawful engagement.
He described 2026 as a year of new beginnings and charged tricycle operators to embrace discipline, unity, hard work, and mutual respect in order to strengthen the union and contribute meaningfully to the development of Abia State.
The ASTOPU Umuahia Zone Chairman further urged operators to maintain professionalism in their daily activities, obey traffic regulations, and cooperate with relevant government agencies, stressing that peace, orderliness, and responsible conduct are essential for sustainable growth within the transport sector.
Hon. Chinweotito Godson Appolos also reaffirmed the union’s continued support for the Abia State Government’s vision of economic transformation and improved welfare for transport workers, assuring members that ASTOPU would remain committed to constructive engagement aimed at protecting their interests and enhancing their livelihoods.
He concluded by wishing all tricycle operators, their families, and residents of Umuahia Zone a happy, peaceful, and prosperous New Year, praying that 2026 would usher in good health, increased income, safety on the roads, and abundant success for all.
According to him, the New Year presents a fresh opportunity for collective progress and greater achievements for ASTOPU and Abia State as a whole.
