HON. OBIALOR ANYANWU WELCOMES ABA SOUTH RESIDENTS TO 2026, ASSURES OF RENEWED COMMITMENT TO GRASSROOTS DEVELOPMENT
The Executive Chairman of Aba South Local Government Area, Hon. Obialor Denis Anyanwu, has warmly welcomed residents of the council area into the year 2026, describing the new year as one filled with hope, renewed strength, and greater opportunities for collective progress.
In his New Year message to the people of Aba South, Hon. Anyanwu expressed profound gratitude to Almighty God for His protection and guidance throughout the previous year, noting that the survival and resilience of the people despite challenges is worthy of thanksgiving.
According to him, 2026 represents a fresh chapter for Aba South, calling on residents to remain united, hardworking, and optimistic as the local government intensifies efforts toward building a more secure, prosperous, and people-oriented council area.
The Chairman reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to people-centered governance, emphasizing that his leadership will continue to prioritize grassroots development, improved security, youth empowerment, infrastructural renewal, and the promotion of peace and unity across all wards and communities in Aba South.
He further assured residents that the local government will deepen collaboration with key stakeholders, including traditional rulers, market leaders, artisans, youths, women groups, and community leaders, to ensure that governance delivers tangible dividends that positively impact everyday lives.
Hon. Anyanwu also used the opportunity to call on residents to uphold peace, discipline, and lawful conduct, stressing that sustainable development can only thrive in an atmosphere of unity, mutual respect, and collective responsibility. He urged the people to reject violence and embrace dialogue as a means of resolving differences.
While wishing the people a prosperous year ahead, the Chairman prayed for good health, business growth, job opportunities, and lasting joy for families across Aba South. He expressed optimism that markets would flourish, security would be strengthened, and the youths would find renewed purpose and opportunities in the new year.
