Chioma Abia Political Structure Rallies Behind Aba North Mayor, Hon. Timothy Iheke, Reaffirms Massive Support for Gov. Alex Otti Ahead of 2027
The Chioma Abia Political Structure on Friday, May 8, 2025, paid a solidarity visit to the Mayor of Aba North Local Government Area, Hon. Timothy Kalu Iheke, in a strong demonstration of support for both the Aba North administration and the government of Governor Alex Chioma Otti.
The visit, which took place at the Mayor’s office, attracted key stakeholders and members of the political structure, who used the opportunity to reaffirm their commitment to the developmental agenda of the Labour Party-led government in Abia State.
Speaking during the meeting, the Mayor of Aba North, Hon. Timothy Kalu Iheke, expressed deep appreciation to the group for the visit and for their continued support towards his administration and that of Governor Alex Otti. He acknowledged the important role being played by support groups and grassroots political structures in complementing government efforts across the state.
The Mayor further urged members of the group to avoid every form of violence, rancor, and political bitterness capable of undermining the progress being recorded under the current administration. He encouraged them to continue promoting peace, unity, and development while assuring them that his office remains open to initiatives and suggestions capable of advancing the growth of Aba North and Abia State at large.
Earlier in his remarks, the Abia South Zonal Coordinator of the structure, Chief Chikodi Alozie, commended the Mayor for what he described as his inclusive style of leadership, goodwill, and numerous interventions aimed at improving the lives of the people. He noted that the administration of Hon. Iheke has continued to enjoy the confidence and support of grassroots political stakeholders because of its people-oriented approach.
Also speaking, the Aba North Chapter Coordinator, Hon. Onyekachi Okoronkwo, pledged the unwavering loyalty and total support of the group towards the administration, especially as political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections continue to gather momentum.
He maintained that members of the structure are fully prepared to mobilize massive grassroots support to ensure the re-election of Governor Alex Otti for a second term in office.
He further appealed to the Mayor to continue assigning responsibilities and political engagements to members of the group, stressing that they remain committed to advancing the government’s vision and achievements.
Adding his voice, the Leader of the Aba North Legislative Council, Rt. Hon. Nnamdi Sunday, applauded the Mayor for the visible transformation and leadership strides being witnessed across Aba North. He noted that the achievements of the administration are evident to both indigenes and residents of the local government area, encouraging the Mayor to remain focused and resolute in delivering quality governance.
In the same vein, the Aba North Supervisor for Works and Leader of the Chioma Abia Political Structure, Hon. Okeoma Nwaogbe, praised the Mayor for his performance since assuming office. He also highlighted the strategic role played by the political structure in the emergence and electoral victory of Governor Alex Otti.
Hon. Nwaogbe reaffirmed the group’s readiness to continue mobilizing support for the Governor and promised that members of the structure would do everything within their capacity to ensure that Governor Alex Otti secures a second term in office. He equally sought the continued support and collaboration of the Mayor in achieving the collective political and developmental goals of the group.
