President Tinubu Appoints Namdas as BCDA Director-General, Names Obahiagbon and Reappoints Umeoji to NDPHC
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of Abdulrazak Sa’ad Namdas as the new Director-General of the Border Communities Development Agency (BCDA), as part of efforts to strengthen leadership across key federal agencies.
Namdas takes over from Dr. Dakorinama Alabo George, who stepped down from the position to pursue an elective office in his home state.
A former member of the House of Representatives who represented the Ganye/Jada/Mayo Belwa/Toungo Federal Constituency of Adamawa State, Namdas previously served as the spokesperson of the 8th House of Representatives. He also contested in the recently concluded governorship primary election in Adamawa State.
Beyond his legislative experience, Namdas is a seasoned journalist and public relations expert. He earlier served as Chief Press Secretary to former Adamawa State Governor, Boni Haruna, bringing years of experience in public communication and governance to his new role.
In a related development, President Tinubu appointed Hon. Patrick Obahiagbon as the Executive Director, Strategy and Commercial, of the Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC).
Obahiagbon succeeds Engineer Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama, who resigned from the position to pursue his political ambition in his home state. A respected politician and lawyer, Obahiagbon previously served in both the Edo State House of Assembly and the National Assembly.
The President also reappointed Mr. Chukwuma Umeoji as Executive Director, Corporate Services, of the NDPHC. Umeoji, a former member of the House of Representatives who represented Aguata Federal Constituency in Anambra State during the 9th National Assembly, returns to the office after resigning earlier to pursue his political aspiration in his home state.
The appointments underscore the Tinubu administration’s ongoing efforts to reposition strategic government institutions with experienced public servants and political leaders.
According to a statement issued by the Presidential spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, all the appointments take immediate effect.
