“Your Future Won’t Wait. Neither Should You” — INEC Urges Nigerians to Register, Insists That Voter Registration Ends Tomorrow
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has issued a final appeal to eligible Nigerians to take advantage of the remaining days of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise, warning that the registration window will officially close on Sunday, July 26, 2026.
In a public notice shared on its official X handle on Saturday, the electoral body reminded prospective voters that they still have the opportunity to register either through its dedicated online CVR portal or by visiting designated registration centres across the country for physical assistance.
Emphasising the urgency of the exercise, the commission urged Nigerians not to delay the process, stressing that the deadline would not be extended.
“Your future won’t wait. Neither should you. The Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise ends Sunday, 26 July 2026,” the commission said.
INEC further explained that the registration process has been made more accessible, allowing eligible citizens to complete their voter registration entirely online without necessarily visiting a registration centre, while those requiring assistance can still receive support at any of its offices nationwide.
“You can complete your voter registration online from start to finish via cvr.inecnigeria.org. If you need assistance, visit any INEC State Office, LGA Office, or designated registration centre to complete your registration in person,” the commission added.
To ensure that every eligible voter has ample opportunity to register, INEC disclosed that all registration centres across the country would continue operating daily, including weekends, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. until the exercise officially ends.
The commission urged citizens who have not yet registered, as well as those who need to update or transfer their voter information, to make use of the remaining time to avoid being left out of the national register of voters.
The Continuous Voter Registration exercise forms a critical part of INEC’s preparations for the 2027 general elections, ensuring that eligible Nigerians are captured in the national register and are able to exercise their constitutional right to vote when the country heads to the polls.
