Abia @ 35: ASTOPU Aba Zonal Chairman, Victor Azubuike Celebrates Gov. Alex Otti, Abians, Hails State’s Journey of Progress

The Chairman of the Abia State Tricycle Operators Union (ASTOPU), Aba Zone, Comrade Victor Azubuike, has joined millions of Abians at home and in the diaspora to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the creation of Abia State, describing the milestone as a moment of reflection, gratitude and renewed hope for a greater future.

In a goodwill message to mark the historic anniversary, Comrade Azubuike congratulated the Abia State Government and the people of the state, noting that the celebration provides an opportunity to reflect on the remarkable journey of resilience, enterprise, creativity and determination that has defined Abia since its creation on August 27, 1991.

The Aba ASTOPU Zonal Chairman said that at 35, Abia has reached another defining moment in its history, with growing optimism and confidence about the direction of the state.

He observed that the state is gradually witnessing a new wave of transformation driven by purposeful leadership, infrastructural renewal, economic development and people-oriented governance.

Comrade Azubuike particularly commended the efforts of the Abia State Government under the leadership of Governor Alex Otti, OFR, for what he described as a sustained commitment towards building a cleaner, safer, more prosperous and economically vibrant state.

According to him, the visible changes across various sectors have continued to rekindle the hopes of the people and strengthen their belief in the possibility of a better Abia.

Speaking on the role of the transportation sector in the development of the state, the ASTOPU Aba Zone Chairman reaffirmed the commitment of tricycle operators to supporting government policies and initiatives aimed at promoting orderliness, safety, peace and sustainable development.

He stressed that as critical stakeholders in the transportation sector and contributors to the daily economic activities of Aba, members of the union would continue to play their part in supporting the collective aspiration for a greater Abia.

Comrade Azubuike also called on Abians, irrespective of political, ethnic or professional differences, to remain united and committed to the progress of the state, insisting that the task of building the Abia of the people’s dreams requires collective effort.

He urged citizens to embrace unity, peace and cooperation while working together to ensure that the state continues on the path of sustainable growth and prosperity.

As the state marks 35 years of existence, the ASTOPU Aba Zone Chairman expressed optimism that the years ahead would usher in greater opportunities, accelerated development and a brighter future for generations of Abians.

He wished the government and people of Abia State a memorable anniversary celebration and prayed for continued peace, progress and prosperity across the state.

Abia at 35, he maintained, is not merely a celebration of the past, but a renewed call to build a future worthy of the dreams and aspirations of every Abian.
