Abia at 35: ASTOPU Chairman, Chinweotito Appolos Hails Gov. Alex Otti, Celebrates Journey to a New Abia
The Chairman of the Abia State Tricycle Operators Union (ASTOPU), Umuahia Zone, Comrade Chinweotito Godson Appolos, has joined millions of Abians in celebrating the 35th anniversary of the creation of Abia State, describing the milestone as a moment of reflection, thanksgiving and renewed commitment to building a greater future for the state.
In a goodwill message to mark the anniversary, Comrade Appolos felicitated with the Executive Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, the State Government and the entire people of Abia, noting that the anniversary provides an opportunity to celebrate the resilience, creativity, industry and enduring spirit of the Abia people.
The ASTOPU Chairman said that at 35, Abia State stands at the threshold of greater possibilities, with renewed hope and a collective determination among its people to build a state that works for everyone.
He expressed delight over the transformation taking place across the state, particularly the efforts of the present administration in driving development and restoring confidence in governance.
According to him, the growing focus on infrastructure, urban/rural renewal, security, healthcare, education, transportation and economic development reflects a purposeful vision towards the emergence of a New Abia.
Comrade Appolos also commended Governor Otti for the attention being given to the transportation sector, stressing that operators and stakeholders have a vital role to play in supporting efforts aimed at creating a safer, more organised and efficient transportation system across the state.
He assured that the Abia State Tricycle Operators Union would continue to support government policies and initiatives designed to promote peace, progress, economic prosperity and the welfare of the people.
The ASTOPU Chairman called on Abians to use the 35th anniversary celebration as an opportunity to strengthen unity and put aside differences in pursuit of the collective development of the state.
He urged the people to remain committed to peace and progress, expressing optimism that with unity of purpose and sustained good governance, Abia would continue on the path towards unprecedented growth and development.
Comrade Appolos prayed for God’s continued guidance and wisdom upon Governor Otti and his administration, while wishing Abia State greater peace, prosperity and progress in the years ahead.
As Abia celebrates 35 years of existence, the ASTOPU Chairman maintained that the journey ahead holds even greater promise for the state and its people, calling on everyone to contribute their quota towards building an Abia that future generations will be proud to call home.
