Aba North Chairman, Hon. Timothy Kalu Iheke Urges Residents to Participate in Ongoing Voter Registration Exercise
The Executive Chairman of Aba North Local Government Area, Hon. Timothy Kalu Iheke, has called on all residents of Aba North — traders, market men and women, artisans, businessmen, community and youth leaders, as well as every eligible citizen, to take advantage of the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise.
Hon. Iheke emphasized that the voter’s card remains the most powerful tool in building a better future for Aba North, Abia State, and Nigeria at large. He encouraged everyone who has not registered, lost their card, or needs corrections on their details to ensure they complete the process without delay.
According to him, residents can conveniently register at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office in Aba North or at the Aba North Local Government Council Headquarters. He made it clear that INEC has not yet commenced voter registration at Ward or Polling Unit levels, and warned the public to be cautious of fraudsters or individuals parading themselves as registration agents.
Hon. Iheke strongly advised that any unscrupulous person who attempts to deceive residents with false registration claims should be immediately reported to the appropriate authorities.
“This exercise is for the progress of our democracy. I urge every eligible resident of Aba North to make it a priority to register or update their voter’s card. Let us join hands to shape the future of our dear Local Government and State through active participation,” the Chairman stated.
The Executive Chairman reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting INEC and ensuring that every citizen in Aba North has the opportunity to exercise their civic responsibility.
