Abia Lawmakers Commend Gov. Alex Otti Over Healthcare, Road Infrastructure Projects
Members of the Abia State House of Assembly have continued to applaud Governor Alex Chioma Otti for what they described as his administration’s commitment to delivering impactful development projects across the state, particularly in the areas of healthcare and infrastructure.
During plenary, the member representing Bende North State Constituency, Hon. Ibekwe Nnamdi Chimdi, used his personal explanation to express gratitude to Governor Otti for fulfilling a critical legislative request through the reconstruction of the Umunnato General Hospital.
The lawmaker recalled that the matter was brought before the House through a motion and commended the Governor for swiftly responding by flagging off the reconstruction project just a few months later. He disclosed that work has already commenced at the hospital site, while approval has also been granted for the facility’s upgrade from a General Hospital to a Specialist Hospital.
According to Hon. Chimdi, the development marks a significant milestone for the healthcare sector in Bende North and is expected to improve access to quality medical services for residents and surrounding communities.
Also speaking, the member representing Isuikwuato State Constituency, Hon. Lucky Udoka Johnson, praised Governor Otti for what he described as outstanding developmental strides across Abia State, with particular emphasis on projects executed in Isuikwuato.
He noted that the Governor recently commissioned three strategic roads within the constituency, ending years of neglect and bringing renewed hope to residents who had long awaited government intervention.
Hon. Johnson stated that the road projects have not only enhanced transportation and connectivity within the area but have also opened up opportunities for economic growth and social development.
The commendations by the lawmakers add to the growing recognition of Governor Otti’s efforts in transforming critical sectors across the state, with healthcare and infrastructure remaining key pillars of his administration’s development agenda.
