Abia State Set to Host 44th National Council of Civil Service Commission’s Conference as Commissioner, Prince Okey Kanu Highlights Growing National Focus on the State

The Abia State Government has announced that it will host the 44th National Council of Civil Service Commission’s Conference, scheduled to take place from November 30 to December 5, 2025.

The Commissioner for Information, Prince Okey Kanu, made this known on Monday at the Government House, Umuahia, while briefing newsmen on the outcome of this week’s State Executive Council meeting presided over by Governor Alex Otti.

Prince Kanu revealed that the high-profile conference will attract over 600 participants from across the country, describing the event as a strong testament to the growing recognition of Abia State as a hub of good governance and national engagement.

“This conference will have over 600 participants in attendance. The conference is another evidence of the growing focus on Abia State, following the massive transformation recorded so far in all aspects of governance in the state in the past 29 months of the Dr. Alex Otti-led administration,” Prince Kanu stated.

The Commissioner further noted that hosting such a prestigious national event underscores the confidence and respect the federal and state institutions now have in Abia under the purposeful and reform-driven leadership of Governor Otti.

The upcoming conference is expected to further project Abia State’s image as an emerging model of transparency, administrative excellence, and infrastructural renewal in Nigeria.
