Abia Traditional Rulers, 17 LGA Chairmen Converge in Nvosi: Commend Gov. Alex Otti’s Security Drive, Infrastructure Expansion, and Governance Reforms; Pledge Unwavering Support for Sustained Development Agenda
Traditional rulers in Abia State have commended Governor Alex Otti for prioritising the security of lives and property, describing his administration’s efforts as decisive, impactful, and people-oriented.
The monarchs made their position known while addressing journalists shortly after a closed-door meeting between the Governor and the leadership of the Abia State Council of Traditional Rulers, alongside chairmen of the 17 Local Government Areas. The high-level engagement was held at the Governor’s country home in Nvosi, Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area, and focused on assessing the administration’s performance and strengthening collaboration between the government and traditional institutions.
Speaking on behalf of the monarchs, the Chairman of the Council, Eze Linus Nto-Mba, expressed deep appreciation to the Governor for what he described as remarkable strides in infrastructure development across the State. He noted that the extensive road projects executed under the current administration have significantly improved connectivity, boosted economic activities, and eased transportation challenges for residents in both urban and rural communities.
Eze Nto-Mba further explained that the visit was a deliberate move by the traditional institution to formally acknowledge the Governor’s performance in office and to encourage him to sustain the current pace of development. He emphasized that the administration’s policies and programmes have continued to deliver tangible benefits to the people, thereby restoring confidence in governance.
The royal father highlighted that the traditional rulers are particularly impressed with the administration’s achievements in critical sectors, including security, infrastructure renewal, healthcare revitalisation, and reforms in the education sector. He also pointed to the prompt payment of salaries and pensions, as well as other far-reaching governance reforms, as key indicators of responsible leadership that have collectively repositioned Abia State for sustainable growth and prosperity.
Reaffirming their confidence in the Governor’s leadership, Eze Nto-Mba disclosed that the Abia State Council of Traditional Rulers has resolved to support his future political ambitions. He noted that such support is aimed at ensuring continuity, enabling the consolidation of ongoing developmental projects, and deepening the transformation currently being witnessed across t
he State.
