ASTOPU Umuahia Zonal Chairman, Hon. Chinweotito Appolos Celebrates Children’s Day, Commends Gov. Otti’s Free Education Policy
The Umuahia Zonal Chairman of the Abia State Tricycle Operators Union (ASTOPU), Umuahia Zone, Hon. Chinweotito Godson Appolos, has felicitated with children across Abia State on the occasion of the 2026 Children’s Day celebration, describing them as the hope and future leaders of society.
In his Children’s Day message, Hon. Appolos encouraged children to remain committed to their education, uphold good morals, and stay focused on achieving their dreams despite challenges.
The ASTOPU Umuahia Zonal Chairman noted that every child deserves access to quality education and a conducive environment to grow into responsible and productive citizens. He emphasized that the future of Abia State and Nigeria depends largely on how well today’s children are nurtured and educated.
Hon. Appolos also commended the administration of Governor Alex Chioma Otti for what he described as transformative educational reforms currently taking place across the state. He particularly praised the governor’s free education policy in both primary and secondary schools, saying the initiative has brought relief to many families and renewed hope among children from less privileged backgrounds.
According to him, Governor Otti’s investment in education demonstrates a genuine commitment towards building a better future for Abia children and repositioning the state’s educational sector for excellence.
He further stated that the ongoing reforms in the education sector, alongside infrastructural development and improved learning conditions, are clear signs that the present administration prioritizes the welfare and development of young people.
The union leader urged children to take advantage of the opportunities provided by the government by dedicating themselves to learning and personal development. He also called on parents, teachers, and community leaders to continue supporting and guiding children towards becoming responsible members of society.
Hon. Appolos prayed for wisdom, protection, and a brighter future for every child in Abia State as they mark this year’s Children’s Day celebration.
