Butt Sniffer’ Arrested Again After Suspicious Incidents at Two Glendale Stores

A 39-year-old California man who has previously faced arrests over alleged inappropriate conduct toward women in Southern California businesses has been arrested again following reports of similar suspicious behaviour at two stores in Glendale.
Calese Crowder was taken into custody on Friday afternoon after Glendale police received reports of a man behaving suspiciously and repeatedly bending down around customers at two separate businesses.
According to Glendale police, officers reviewed surveillance footage from both locations and identified Crowder as the individual seen in the reported incidents.
He was arrested shortly afterward in the 100 block of South Brand Boulevard on suspicion of violating his parole. Authorities said he was being held without bail as the investigation continued.
Law enforcement sources said one of the businesses involved was a Marshalls clothing store. Around the same period, a grocery store in the 1500 block of Glenoaks Boulevard also contacted emergency services after a customer was reportedly seen bending down behind other customers and attempting to sniff them.
Police are continuing to investigate the latest incidents, with the case expected to be presented to prosecutors for consideration of possible criminal charges.
Crowder has previously been linked to similar allegations in Glendale and Burbank dating back to 2021.
In July 2025, he was arrested at a Nordstrom Rack store in Burbank following reports that a man was roaming through the women’s department and sexually harassing a female customer, according to the Burbank Police Department.
A month later, Crowder was arrested again after allegedly sniffing a woman’s backside inside a Walgreens store in Burbank.
His legal troubles have also involved violations of the conditions attached to his parole. Glendale police previously said Crowder was arrested on November 24 after failing to complete his annual sex-offender registration requirement for more than two months. Officers from the Glendale Police Department’s Assaults Unit arrested him at his residence.
Crowder had been on parole at the time for a burglary conviction.
In December, he was sentenced to 99 days in jail for a parole violation. He appeared before a judge again in April over further parole violations and received another 105-day jail sentence.
The latest arrest has once again placed Crowder under police scrutiny as investigators examine the reported incidents at the Glendale businesses and determine whether additional criminal charges will be filed.
