A routine-looking roadside encounter in Osogbo, Osun State, has taken an unexpected turn after a drone reportedly captured the moment men in police uniforms allegedly fled from a checkpoint where motorists were being stopped.
According to the account accompanying the viral footage, a passerby noticed what appeared to be police officers stopping vehicles along a road, with allegations that motorists were being subjected to demands for informal payments.
Rather than confronting the officers or simply recording the incident with a mobile phone, the individual reportedly deployed a drone and sent it into the sky to capture the scene from above.
What followed was a dramatic change in atmosphere.
As the drone hovered over the area, the men in uniform reportedly began scattering in different directions. Some were seen moving towards nearby compounds, while others allegedly ran down the unpaved road. Vehicles that had appeared stationary suddenly drove away, leaving the area noticeably deserted within moments.
There was reportedly no confrontation or exchange of words. Instead, the buzzing presence of a camera in the sky appeared to trigger an immediate reaction on the ground.
