‘Effective immediately’ – Trump announces final 25% tariff on countries doing business with Iran

United States President, Donald Trump, on Monday, announced a 25% tariff on countries doing business with Iran.

Trump announced this in a post on his Truth Social media account.

“Effective immediately, any Country doing business with the Islamic Republic of Iran will pay a Tariff of 25% on any and all business being done with the United States of America,” Trump wrote.

“This Order is final and conclusive. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”

Trump’s latest action could potentially affect the United States’ trade with China, India, the United Arab Emirates, the European Union and others.

This is coming after reports from human rights groups indicate that hundreds of people have been killed in a brutal crackdown on protests against the Iranian regime that intensified over the weekend.

Trump had previously warned that the United States could intervene if Iran’s government used violence against the protesters.
