Female hotel staff strangled to death in Kwara

A female kitchen staff of an Ilorin based hotel, located at Babaode area of the state capital was allegedly murdered by some yet to be identified assailants.

The unidentified staff, was allegedly murdered at about 12a.m on Saturday within the hotel for reasons yet unknown.

DAILY POST gathered that she was strangled to death with a cloth by the assailants.

According to an eyewitness account, “we heard the victim shouting thief, thief, before she was strangled with a cloth by the assailants.”

There are conflicting reports about the tragic incident, some claim that the assailants were hired by someone, while others said the assailants actually went for the owner of the hotel who was not available at the time of the incident.

The incident led to confusion within the hotel as guests fled the scene for their dear lives.

The Commissioner of Police, Adekimi Ojo, confirmed the development in a response to the text message sent to him by DAILY POST in Ilorin on Monday.

“Thank you, the investigation into the matter is ongoing,” he stated.
