GLOBAL SEXUAL SATISFACTION RANKING: NIGERIA PLACES 15TH AS NORWAY LEADS THE WORLD — NEW SURVEYS REVEAL
A new compilation of global intimacy and sexual wellness reports has placed Nigeria among the top 20 countries with the highest sexual satisfaction in the world. The data, drawn from multiple international studies including the Durex Global Sex Survey, YouGov International Intimacy Reports, Statista Global Sexual Well-Being Index, Global Sex Index research data, and World Population Review, ranks Nigeria 15th worldwide with a satisfaction level of 67%.
Nigeria is the highest-ranking English-speaking African nation on the list, surpassing countries such as Ghana (51%), Kenya (50%), and South Africa (70%), which sits slightly ahead.
According to the survey analyses, Nigeria’s score suggests a growing openness among its citizens regarding intimacy communication, increased awareness of sexual health, and a cultural shift toward wellness and partnership satisfaction.
Sexual health advocates note that the rise in public discussions around intimacy, reproductive health campaigns, and the expansion of digital spaces for relationship education may be contributing factors to the country’s relatively strong position.
The compiled global rankings reveal Norway as the most sexually satisfied nation in the world with an impressive 91%, followed by Portugal (83%) and Brazil (82%). Many of the highest-ranking countries maintain progressive sexual health programs, comprehensive sex education in schools, and stronger gender equality policies.

Nigeria, at 67%, ranks above several African nations but behind South Africa (70%), which tops the continent in the survey. Other African results include Ghana (51%), Kenya (50%), Egypt (49%), and Morocco (45%). Uganda and the United States share an identical 48% rating.
At the bottom of the list is Japan, with only 15%, a stark contrast to global averages. Sociologists attribute Japan’s low rating to long work hours, declining marriage rates, increased use of digital alternatives to companionship, and reduced interpersonal intimacy.
Countries like Singapore (35%), South Korea (37%), and Russia (42%) also recorded relatively low satisfaction levels.
The ranking highlights not just the country’s perception of sexual happiness but also growing awareness around sexual rights, communication between partners, health education, and relationship compatibility. However, experts emphasize that Nigeria still faces challenges such as access to sexual health resources, stigma surrounding sex education, and inadequate counseling services.
While the survey compilation is not exhaustive and does not represent every nation, it offers insight into how cultural norms, healthcare systems, communication patterns, and education influence sexual satisfaction globally. Nigeria’s placement within the top 15 suggests a notable shift in intimacy perception and health awareness among its citizens.
