“GOD HAS USED HIM TO WIPE AWAY THE TEARS OF ABIA PEOPLE” — APC CHIEFTAIN, DR. UCHE OGAH ENDORSES OTTI FOR SECOND TERM, DECLARES TOTAL SUPPORT FOR TINUBU AND OTTI AHEAD OF 2027
A Chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and former Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Dr. Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah, has declared that Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, deserves a second term in office, citing what he described as the Governor’s impactful performance and the visible transformation currently being witnessed across the State.
Dr. Ogah made this assertion on Tuesday while speaking with Journalists after a closed-door meeting with Governor Otti at his country home in Nvosi, Isialangwa South Local Government Area.
The former Minister explained that the visit was primarily to extend New Year greetings to the Governor, but noted that it also provided an opportunity for him to personally assess the performance of the Otti-led administration.
According to him, Governor Otti’s achievements within a short period of time have earned him widespread appreciation among Abians, stressing that continuity in leadership would enable the Governor to fully actualise his development blueprint for the State.
“I think he deserves a second term. I’ve said it times without number. It’s not something arguable anywhere.
“I’ve said it times without number, that God has used him to wipe away the tears of Abia people. And this is just a few years of governance that people can see the positive results coming from his effort. So Abians are grateful, Abians are happy.
“He should have the opportunity to govern us a second time, so that he can put out there, all that he has planned for Abia people. I think it is something that everybody should support him to complete his second term,” Dr. Ogah added.
The APC Chieftain further described Governor Otti as a leader whose policies and style of governance have brought renewed hope, confidence and optimism to the people of Abia State, noting that the scale of infrastructural renewal, improved governance processes and people-oriented programmes speak volumes of the Governor’s commitment to public service.
Commenting on the increasing political activities and early manoeuvring ahead of the 2027 general elections, Dr. Ogah said such developments are natural in a democratic setting, where political actors are free to present themselves and their ideas to the electorate.
“Normally politics is when you have your goods, you need to sell your goods so you can’t expect somebody not to sell his goods.
“So people have to sell their goods. That’s what opposition means.
“But you know, at the end of the day, God and Abians will determine who governs them,” he said.
Addressing speculations surrounding his own political ambition ahead of 2027, the former governorship candidate dismissed suggestions that he is seeking elective office, insisting that his focus is on supporting the current leadership at both the federal and state levels.
“The ambition I have is to support the President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu for presidency and support Governor Alex Otti for governorship. That’s my ambition,” Dr. Ogah stated.
Dr. Ogah’s endorsement adds to the growing list of prominent political figures who have publicly expressed confidence in Governor Otti’s leadership and have called for continuity to sustain the pace o
f development in Abia State.
