Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, has reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to revitalising the education sector through sustained investments in infrastructure, security, and technology-driven learning.
The Governor disclosed that his government has continued with the comprehensive renovation of public schools across the state, alongside the fencing and proper securing of school premises to ensure a safe and conducive learning environment for pupils and teachers alike.
According to him, these interventions are aimed at restoring confidence in public education and positioning schools as centres of excellence.
Governor Otti further highlighted the ongoing implementation of the Smart School Projects, a flagship initiative designed to integrate modern technology into teaching and learning processes, enhance digital literacy, and prepare Abia students for global competitiveness in a rapidly evolving world.
He assured that the reforms in the education sector would not stall, noting that additional and more impactful interventions are already in the pipeline and would begin to unfold from 2026 as part of the administration’s long-term education development strategy.
The Governor made these remarks on Tuesday during the December edition of the Monthly Media Parley, tagged Governor Otti Speaks, while responding to questions from journalists on the state of education and other critical sectors in Abia State.
