The ongoing infrastructure revolution in Abia State is set to gather even greater momentum as the administration of Alex Otti prepares for another milestone in its urban renewal and economic transformation agenda across Aba metropolis.

In what many residents have described as a bold demonstration of purposeful governance and strategic development, Governor Alex Otti will on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, commission and flag-off a series of critical road projects cutting across Aba North, Aba South and Osisioma Local Government Areas.

The projects, strategically located within major commercial and residential corridors of Aba, are expected to further improve road connectivity, reduce transportation difficulties, boost business activities and enhance the overall living standards of the people.

The latest intervention by the Otti administration is part of the broader vision to reposition Aba as a modern commercial hub and restore the city’s long-standing reputation as one of Nigeria’s leading centers for trade, manufacturing and enterprise.

Over the past months, the government has sustained an aggressive infrastructure renewal drive that has continued to open up neglected communities, improve access roads and create a more business-friendly environment for investors and residents alike.

The commissioning and flag-off ceremony, scheduled to commence by 12 noon, will feature several strategic projects spread across the three local government areas.

Among the projects billed for commissioning and flag-off are the Aro Amano–Eke Aro Road, Adelu Road in Osisioma-Aba, Geometric Road, Afule Road, Assemblies of God Church Road, the 7-UP–Umuchichi Link Road, Nwogu Ajagba Street, Nwala Street, Sacred Heart Street, Elizabeth Avenue, Nigerian Brewery Road, Etche Road, Mosque Road, Crystal Park Road, as well as the first phase of the Aba Ring Road linking Umuaduru to Okpulo Umuobo in Osisioma.

The road projects are expected to significantly ease vehicular movement within Aba and surrounding communities while stimulating economic activities in key business districts and residential areas.

Observers believe the continued investment in road infrastructure under Governor Otti’s administration is gradually redefining the landscape of Aba and strengthening public confidence in governance driven by transparency, accountability and measurable results.

Residents, business owners, community leaders, stakeholders and party faithful across the state have been encouraged to participate in the historic exercise as the administration continues to deliver people-oriented projects designed to meet the aspirations of Ndi Abia.

For many residents, the visible transformation taking place across Aba stands as evidence of a government determined to translate promises into tangible development, while laying the foundation for sustainable economic growth and urban prosperity.

The statement announcing the projects was signed by Prince Okey Kanu, the Abia State Commissioner for Information, on May 25, 2026.
