The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the conclusion of the second phase of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise, with a total of 3.75 million completed registrations recorded nationwide.
According to the electoral body, the figure reflects a combination of both online and physical registration processes carried out during the exercise.
A breakdown of the registrations shows that 2.26 million applicants completed their registration through the online pre-registration platform, while 1.49 million voters finalized their registration through physical verification at designated centres across the country.
As part of the next stage in the registration process, INEC disclosed that the display of the voter register for claims and objections will take place from April 20 to April 26, 2026. This period will allow Nigerians to verify their details, request corrections, or raise objections where necessary.
Looking ahead, the Commission also confirmed that Phase III of the CVR exercise is scheduled to commence on May 4 and run through August 17, 2026. The upcoming phase is expected to provide another opportunity for eligible Nigerians who are yet to register to be captured in the voter database.
INEC reiterated its commitment to ensuring an inclusive and transparent electoral process, urging citizens who have not yet registered to take advantage of the next phase.
