“Love Rufai Oseni or Hate Him…” — Paul Ibe Hails Arise TV Host Following Mehdi Hasan’s Hard-Hitting Interview of Daniel Bwala
Paul Ibe, media aide to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has praised Arise TV’s Rufai Oseni, drawing a striking comparison with Al Jazeera’s renowned program anchor, Mehdi Hasan.
Ibe’s remarks came in response to a widely-discussed exchange between Hasan and President Bola Tinubu’s media aide, Daniel Bwala, on the popular Head to Head program.
During the interview, Bwala faced a series of probing and critical questions from Hasan. Observers noted that he struggled to provide satisfactory answers, at times attempting to dodge the interviewer’s inquiries. The tense interaction escalated, highlighting moments of confrontation and leading to Bwala denying all prior critical comments he had made against President Bola Tinubu before his appointment.
The interview has since ignited a storm of reactions across social media, with netizens criticizing Bwala for allegedly embarrassing the country during the exchange.
Reacting to the viral discussion, Ibe took to X to share his perspective on Rufai Oseni’s broadcasting style. He wrote:
“Love Rufai Oseni @ruffydfire, or hate him, Mehdi Hasan’s roasting of Daniel Bwala has given us a better perspective of Rufy as a broadcaster who got the memo to unearth these fraudsters and dogs who are not ashamed to eat their vomits. Every TV network needs a Rufai Oseni.”
Ibe’s post positions Oseni as a fearless journalist, one capable of holding public officials accountable, much like Hasan, and underscores the increasing demand for investigative and uncompromising journalism in Nigeria’s media landscape.
