NCDMB Team Visits Aba South, Backs Local Content Drive, Pledges Stronger Partnership for Economic Development
The Nigeria Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has paid a courtesy and inspection visit to Aba South Local Government Area of Abia State, with the team commending the administration of the Executive Chairman, Hon. Obialor Denis Anyanwu, for its visible developmental strides and efforts to create a conducive environment for businesses and government agencies.
The NCDMB team was received by the Executive Chairman during the visit, which was aimed at inspecting operations within the local government area and seeking the council’s support for the activities of the federal agency.
The Nigeria Content Development and Monitoring Board is a federal agency established in 2010 under the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development (NOGICD) Act. The board is responsible for managing, directing and monitoring compliance with local content requirements in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.
The visiting delegation was led by Mr. Nsikan Bob of the Communications Department and included the Secretary, Mrs. Kirikarey Brenda Apeikumor, as well as the Operations representative, Mr. Itonye O. Tuba.
During the engagement, the team expressed appreciation to the Aba South Council Chairman for the warm reception and hospitality extended to the delegation. The team also acknowledged the administration’s development initiatives and its efforts to provide an enabling environment for federal agencies, businesses and other stakeholders to operate effectively within the local government.
Responding, Hon. Anyanwu expressed appreciation to the Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, for what he described as significant contributions to the development of Aba South, particularly in the health sector.
He highlighted the extensive renovation and upgrade of the Aba South Health Complex as a major example of the state government’s commitment to transforming healthcare delivery and improving access to quality medical services at the grassroots.
The council chairman further assured the NCDMB delegation of the continued support of his administration for its activities and initiatives within Aba South. He stressed the importance of collaboration between the local government, state government and federal agencies in attracting more development projects, investments and economic opportunities to the area.
He also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to sustaining and consolidating development across various sectors, while fostering partnerships capable of accelerating economic growth and improving the wellbeing of residents.
The visit concluded with both parties expressing their readiness to strengthen collaboration between the NCDMB and Aba South Local Government Area, particularly in promoting local content development, supporting economic activities and creating opportunities for sustainable growth within the council area.
